Familiar Threads
Overview

Familiar threads is an exhibition exploring relationships and family ties through lines, textures, and stories.

Join the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) as we celebrate the opening of Familiar Threads with a public reception at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room on Wednesday, April 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Familiar Threads features the work of Aliana Grace Bailey, Michael Booker, and Katherine Knight, three artists who engage with threads, both materially and metaphorically, to explore connection, identity, and belonging. Through textiles, drawing, and painting their work reflects on how family histories, personal relationships, and cultural identity shape who we are.

Together, their work creates a visual language rich with layered lines, patterns, and textures, inviting viewers to look closely and consider the ties that bind us together across time and experience.

Presented at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery from March 30, 2026 - June 12, 2026, Familiar Threads is an exhibition curated by Stéphane Calvin Rosenberg. This opening reception is free and open to the public. For more information on the exhibition and the artists, click here.
