Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to bring this training to Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras providers. This training aims to empower professionals with knowledge to address the complex and sensitive issues surrounding familial sexual abuse and trafficking within families. This course delves into the dynamics of familial relationships and the various forms of eploitation that can occur within them.

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible and will not receive the zoom link.

Learning objectives:

  1. Participants will gain insights into signs and indicators famillial sexual abuse and trafficking.
  2. Participants will understand the dynamics and complexities of famillial relationships and their role in facilitating sexual abuse and trafficking families.
  3. Develop trauma-informed approaches and effective intervention strategies for supporting survivors and addressing their immediate and long-term needs.

Nicole Kelly is a clinical psychologist who consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC), culturally responsive services, vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has been training multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and provides guest lectures at local universities on human trafficking. She has developed several of the training curriculums that are being utilized throughout California to better equip providers on working with commercially sexually exploited youth and youth at-risk of recruitment of CSEC. She has authored a CSEC prevention curriculum, “Word on the Street: Educating and Equipping Young Women and Girls,” a CSEC intervention curriculum, “The Empowerment Project: Redefining Young Women’s Strength, Beauty, and Courage” as well as a CSEC parenting prevention curriculum and a CSEC parenting intervention curriculum. She is currently in the process of publishing a book, “Embrace the Journey: Applying the Stages of Change with Commercially Sexually Exploited Girls” and has started a second book on applying harm reduction with CSEC. She has been an expert witness on CSEC and trauma in court. Her work has been recognized by Los Angeles County leaders and she has been awarded the State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition by Senator Joel Anderson.
