Hackathon Academy is a three-day pop-up school that utilizes a model of immersive learning engagement that introduces coding, art design, and product development to high potential, low opportunity youth. Trailblazers (youth participants) creates teams alongside their mentors (adult professionals and experts) to rapidly prototype, test, and pitch a unique solution to the world’s biggest problems.

Hosted by the Kapor Center, Qeyno will unveil its 2017 “Magical Opportunity” slate of products including the newest edition of their signature project - Hackathon Academy, and recently launched Tech EQuity Week. Their fall showcase will also unveil Moonshot Q - the first hacker school for inclusive innovation, and introduce Debugg, an interactive media experience for STEAM-based learning.
Hackathon Academy: UBUNTUHACK
An app-building, coding competition between youth of color and police launches in Oakland
An unforgettable experience inspired by Nelson Mandela and the reconciliatory concept of “Ubuntu”, Hackathon Academy will bring together local youth of color and their communities, adult professionals throughout the tech community, and police officers from the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area to participate in a three-day experience that will challenge dehumanization between communities in conflict - UbuntuHack. #UbuntuHack

A multi-city world’s fair for inclusive innovation expands
Never before has the Oakland-grown tech movement so inspired the hearts and minds of other cities as TEQWeek expands to new locations around the country and involves over a hundred entrepreneurial and community-based initiatives to diversify and inspire the future of innovation. #TEQWeek
