What You’ll Learn:

  • The basics of candle making.
  • How to melt, pour, and scent soy wax.
  • Techniques for wicking a candle and creating wax tarts.


Supplies You’ll Need:

To participate, please have the following supplies ready before the class:

  • (1) 8.5 oz candle vessel with a lid
  • (1) wax tart mold
  • Wooden wicks with clips (1 for candle)
  • Soy wax (1 lb. recommended)
  • Wick tabs (2)
  • Thermometer
  • Fragrance oil (1–2 oz of your favorite scent)
  • Measuring cups
  • Labels (2)
  • Beaker (or heat-safe measuring cup for melting wax)
  • Popsicle sticks (2, for stirring and centering the wick)
  • Access to a microwave or double boiler
