Fall Grower Workshop
A UGC Spring Workshop for small-scale growers that will cover the themes most relevant to the fall growing season!
Urban Growers Collective is presenting a Fall Workshop for small-scale growers, including home, community, and school gardeners. In this workshop, we will cover the themes most relevant to this season, including fall crop planning/prep, seasonal harvest, garden cooking, and food preservation.
All content will be informed by the lineage of growing practices developed by Urban Growers Collective and Growing Power and will be presented by the farming and programming staff at UGC.
Participants should come prepared to take notes and contribute to the conversation based on their own practices and experiences. You will learn from UGC staff as well as have an opportunity to get your hands dirty and practice the specific skills we cover in the class. Participants will also leave the workshop with a small tray of seedlings that they will plant in the workshop and take home to cultivate and plant in their own spaces or share with their community.
Following the workshop, volunteer sessions are available on select Saturday mornings for those who would like to spend time practicing these skills alongside our farm staff to build their skills. UGC is offering volunteers a passport model to track volunteer hours and participants' progression towards mastery of specific growing skills.
