Fall Foraging & Acorn Processing
Learn about seasonal wild edibles and acorn processing in this fun and informative foraging walk.
Every season and landscape offers unique and nutritious plants to eat and prepare as medicine! Let’s go on a walk and learn about the most local, organic, and free food in our area! In this class, we will cover many plant species, and plant parts to eat or collect for medicine and utilitarian use. We will be hiking through varied terrain, on and off trail, up to 1 mile.
This is an adult class, but mature minors are welcome to join with an adult. The ticket cost covers 1 student, regardless of age.
Most of the entirety of this class will be stationary, learning to process acorns. We will be gathering and walking through the forest to learn other plants as well. If time allows, students will also learn the art of making rope out of certain plant species.
This class will be taught by Tim Swanson, Founder and Lead Instructor of Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival, along with his co-instructors.
