The Houston Design District is thrilled to welcome a dynamic line up of talent for its annual Fall Design Week + Access/Design on Monday, October 9 through Thursday, October 12. The 4th annual design celebration will showcase the latest in trends in interior design and architecture through lectures, book signings, educational presentations and more. Each inspiring event will be hosted by leading showrooms throughout The Houston Design District.V﻿IP ticket holders will have special access to By-Invitation-Only events including Vicente Wolf on Monday, October 9 at 5:30 pm and Lauren Rottet on Wednesday, October 11 at 5:30 pm.

Hosted by Kirksey Architecture, 6909 Portwest Drive •	5:30 pm | An Evening with Lauren Rottet- Form &amp; Function: Powerful design for the human experience By Invitation Only, VIP Ticket Holders and Sponsors Lauren Rottet is a highly accomplished architect, interior designer, furniture designer and art curator with an extraordinary record of awards, publications, lectures, juries and honors. She is the Founding Principal of Rottet Studio, an international architecture and interior design firm, and is the only woman in history to be elevated to Fellow status by both the American Institute of Architects and International Interior Design Association.. Her new furniture company, Rottet Collection, was introduced in 2017 and was met with rave reviews garnering significant awards including an Interior Design Best of Year. Paul Laszlo, a Hungarian Jew who escaped the Holocaust but still lost many family members, found his way to America, landing in Beverly Hills, Calif. By 1952, Time magazine had dubbed him “the Millionaire’s Architect.” Laszlo designed only one home in Houston, and it’s the current residence of designer Mary Patton, who renovated and restored the midcentury modern home in Old Braeswood with creativity and color. Introductions and Q&amp;A will be moderated with the Houston Chronicle’s Architecture and Home Design Writer Diane Cowen. Houston designer Linda Eyles and architect Michael Hsu, a Houston native with offices in both Houston and Austin, will talk about their work together on Linda’s own home in the Heights and other projects.
