The biggest single factor leading to another incarcertion is unemployment!
The South-Central Oklahoma Workforce Board in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Oklahoma Works & Canadian Valley Technology Center is seeking employers in the South-Central Oklahoma area who are interested in providing a second chance to those re-entering the workforce.
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections will be bringing in inmates who are within 90 days of release to connect with businesses in the area. Business are invited to come and connect with this untapped workforce pool that possesses a wide array of skills that are valuable in the workforce.
This event is NOT open to the public. There is no fee to attend. Inmates will be brought in on a scheduled basis one facility at a time.
Prior to the event Oklahoma Works will speak to employers about the Federal Bonding Program and tax incentives avialable to businesses who hire "at risk" job seekers.
