Te invitamos a ser parte de esta proyección especial del aclamado documental el próximo 25 de agosto.As part of its new initiative “Cultura Panas,” the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in collaboration with the Alliance Française Puerto Rico and its Puerto Rico European Film Festival proudly presents the acclaimed documentary Faces Places (Visages Villages) . <h1>Sinopsis/Synopsis</h1> Agnès Varda, directora de cine y una de las principales figuras de la Nueva Ola francesa, y JR, el aclamado fotógrafo y muralista francés, se unen para crear este encantador documental. Ambos comparten una pasión por las imágenes y un interés en cómo se crean, muestran y comparten. Juntos viajan por los pueblos de Francia conociendo a diferentes personas, aprendiendo sus historias y produciendo fotografías de ellos. Las fotos se exhiben de manera destacada en casas, graneros, tiendas y trenes, revelando la humanidad en sus sujetos y en ellos mismos. Faces Places documenta estos conmovedores encuentros, así como la improbable y tierna amistad que formaron a lo largo del camino.89-year-old film director Agnès Varda, one of the leading figures of the French New Wave, and acclaimed 33-year-old French photographer and muralist JR team up to co-direct this enchanting documentary. Kindred spirits, Varda and JR share a lifelong passion for images and how they are created, displayed, and shared. Together they travel around the villages of France in JR’s photo truck meeting locals, learning their stories and producing epic-size portraits of them. The photos are prominently displayed on houses, barns, storefronts and trains revealing the humanity in their subjects, and themselves. Faces Places documents these heart-warming encounters as well as the unlikely, tender friendship they formed along the way.

<h1>Directores (Directors)</h1> Agnès Varda Durante el transcurso de su vida, Varda dirigió más de 40 obras, incluyendo documentales, cortometrajes y largometrajes. JRJean-René, mejor conocido como JR, es un fotógrafo y artista francés que utiliza su arte no convencional para representar realidades sociales. JR usa las calles de grandes ciudades como su lienzo para pegar sus fotografías ampliadas en blanco y negro, a menudo desafiando las ideas generalizadas por los medios. En 2011, JR ganó el premio TED y utilizó el dinero para financiar su proyecto "Inside Out", que aborda problemas sociales y ofrece una voz para personas marginadas. JR utilizes big city walls as his canvas to paste enlarged, black and white photographs, often challenging widespread preconceptions propagated by the media. In 2011, he won the TED award, and used the money to fund his project “Inside Out”, addressing important social issues and offering a voice for underrepresented people. In Faces Places, JR and Agnès Varda document their journey through France as they create photographic murals of villagers, depicting their stories through art.
