About this event

This workshop is great for creatives who love fabric and textiles and want to create a collage! You will be introduced to various fabric collage techniques, such as hand-sewing, glue or other ways to adhere materials. We recommend (but don't require) participants bring something to inspire their collage, such as a memory, place or theme. Participants will go home with knowledge, renewed creativity and a collage- or the start of a collage if you go on the same, long, detailed journey as Careen!

This workshop is appropriate for those ages 11 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

About the Instructor:

Careen Vaughn is an artist that works by day as a decorative painter and faux finisher, painting murals, furniture, walls, cabinetry and even does Venetian plaster for residential and commercial clients. She loves being a mom, wife and having a turtle and a calico cat! In her free time, she loves being creative with beading, sewing, drawing, painting and collaging. She loves getting out into nature with walking, running, and hiking where she finds inspiration, things to collect, and takes pictures to crowd her phone memory. Careen has her MFA from Louisiana State University and her BFA form Sam Houston State University, both in studio art.
