Welcome to the Extension Drone Field Day

Date: Thursday, June 27, 2024

Time: 10:00 AM-2:30PM

Location: Metcalf County Farmers Market

Come join us for a day of hands-on activities, presentations, and demonstrations where you'll learn all about drones and their various applications in agriculture. Topics will include the basics of crop scouting with drones, dissaster planning, recovery, autonomous dispensing of agriculture chemicals, and research topics in soybean monitoring and yield optimization.
We will also host a hands on map clinic to help you access any useful planning or historical mapping data that may be available for your managed land areas. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to expand your drone skills!

The workshop will introduce new learners to the utilization of autonomous drone technology in creating digital twins of areas managed for agriculture and natural resources. The field day will consist of lectures, drone demonstrations, and will include lab-based exercises in geographic information systems.

Series is open to public stakeholders, extension staff currently utilizing drone for research or extension work, and students that have completed introductory.
