About this event

We are creating a "club style dancehall" atmosphere for this show, with limited reserved table seating nearest the stage, plus general admission seats behind the tables.

Table seats include two drink tickets for beer, soft drinks or wine served by the venue at their mini-bar. Purchase four reserved table seat tickets to be seated at the same table with others in your party.

General admission tickets also enable you to join the fun to the sides of the stage and the tables, making this a great dance floor when the music is too irresistibly danceable to stay in your seats.

1980s Power Pop music will rock the stage and the dance aisles when EXTC - Terry Chambers from XTC and his friends - come to the Irving Theater in Indy on Saturday, April 26th. This will be a night of new wave, punk and post-punk featuring drummer Terry Chambers from the original XTC, with a band approved by Andy Partridge himself from XTC. "Making Plans For Nigel", "Senses Working Overtime", "Generals and Majors", "Jason and the Argonauts", "Life Begins At the Hop", "Mayor of Simpleton", "Respectable Street", "No Thugs In Our House", "King For a Day" -- hit after hit after hit from a Brit band that was always a bit off the beaten path, but always a beacon of sunshine during some murky years.

Emerging out of the post-punk and new-wave explosion of the late 70s, XTC experienced global success touring with the likes of The Police and Talking Heads. The band achieved huge success in North America and Japan. Sadly their legions of loyal fans would be left in limbo when in 1982 XTC stopped touring becoming a studio-based entity. Fast forward to 2017: Terry returned to the UK from Australia and reconnected with XTC bandmate Colin Moulding. The two would go on to collaborate on new venture TC&I releasing an EP and live album.

Born in early 2019, EXTC would set out to achieve its goals of performing to audiences who had waited so long to hear the EXTC back catalogue performed live.

The band eventually began gigging again in 2021 with sold-out dates around the UK. This would include the Isle of Wight Festival and gigs in Terry Chambers' and XTC's hometown of Swindon. The band would go on to do further successful tours of the United States and Canada with EXTC also heading to Japan in early 2023.

Enthusiastic fans have lapped up the chance to see Terry and EXTC perform all those classics live once more. Alongside Terry the EXTC line-up features frontman Steve Hampton (lead vocals & guitar - Joe Jackson, The Vapors and Dead Crow Road) and Terry Lines (bass & vocals - The Rams and Dead Crow Road).

Yes, two-thirds of the band are named Terry.

Terry, Steve and Terry will bring you the full EXTC experience with their mesmerizing and engaging live performances as you relive the heyday of XTC. With their popularity gaining momentum and international tour schedules increasing, it is clear the sky is the limit for Terry Chambers and EXTC!

Don't miss the fun (and the nostalgia) when EXTC perform at the Irving Theater in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 26th. Doors open at 6:30pm, showtime is 7:30pm.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I park?

A very few parking spots *might* be available behind the theater, but many neighborhood events cause this to fill quickly. The BEST parking is available across the street from the west side of the theater, in an elementary school parking lot on the southwest corner of Ritter and Washington Streets.
