Exploratorium

The Exploratorium staff (several of whom happen to be long-time Teardown Library members 💕) have invited us for a very special behind-the-scenes tour of the Exploratorium shop. We'll get a tour of the facilities and get to hear first-hand how exhibits go from concept through development. We'll be joined by prolific exhibit developer <a href="https://www.charlessowers.com" title="https://www.charlessowers.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Charles Sowers</a> to hear about specific exhibits he's designed and his creative process. The Exploratorium is a historic institution of experiential learning opened in 1969 by Frank Openheimer to house a “library of experiments” that enabled his students to explore scientific phenomena at their own pace, following their own curiosity. Their exhibits are designed to explore scientific fundamentals and phenomena in a hands-on way intended to last generations. We host an event series visiting the creative spaces of builders and maintain an archive of disassembled products new and old in San Francisco.
