We’ve all heard that the tech industry is booming - but sometimes it feels daunting to know where to start. Which languages should you learn first? Should you attend a full-time or part-time program? A bootcamp or a 4-year degree? She lives in Colorado and works for StitchFix remotely. Before joining StitchFix, she worked at StackCommerce as a Software Engineer. Jasmin originally pursued a career in journalism by attending the Metropolitan State University of Denver but realized that it wasn&#x27;t as fulfilling of a career as she had hoped for. She trained to become a certified SCRUM Master and worked as a project/account manager for a couple of Denver startups before attending Turing School. She always had a love for computers and web technology and knew it was time to focus on it full time. Jasmin enjoys cooking, checking out new local restaurants, and spending time with her family.Danny is a Developer Relations Engineer at New Relic. He graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a BA in film/theatre production. He went on to contribute to local productions and was awarded for his work alongside the Black Actors Guild - a Denver-based education and production company. He later enrolled in the Turing School of Software and Design where he learned Back-End software development. He currently does stand-up comedy for free drink tickets and lives in Oakland, CA.Leigh is a UX Engineer at Omnilert, an emergency communication and AI-gun detection software company based in Virginia. She lives in Colorado and works for Omnilert remotely. Before joining Omnilert, she helped to start and worked at a non-profit Recovery Cafe as a program manager, following her service in the US Air Force. Leigh originally pursued a career in military chaplaincy/ministry after attending the University of Texas at Austin but decided after two years that it wasn’t the right path for her. She has a heart for service and helping others, but after burnout and low pay, she applied to Turing School, where she felt she could continue to make a difference in the world but still make ends meet. She was attracted to learning how to develop software and implement beautiful and intuitive UX. Leigh enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband, also a Turing alum, and her dog Gypsy, a devout Turing supporter. Melvin is a Software Developer at Smartlogic, a Software Consultancy based out of Baltimore. He lives in Colorado and works for Smartlogic remotely. Before joining Smartlogic, he worked in the cannabis industry in northern California before attending Turing School. He was attracted to learning how to code by the apps being built in the cannabis space and thought it was a good next step to learn how to code. Melvin enjoys Coding, Jiu-Jitsu, and road trips.
