Join these neurodivergent-affirming creative writing sessions where we'll explore the lived experiences, challenges, and gifts of neurodiversity through poetry and prose. Using texts from neurodivergent authors as our starting points, we'll investigate concepts like self-acceptance, masking, monotropism, the double empathy problem, and navigating a world designed for neurotypicals.
Through guided writing exercises and supportive discussion, these workshops create space for deeper understanding of our own or others' neurodivergence while exploring wider social and cultural perspectives. We will write our own words and look at material from neurodivergent and neuroqueer authors including: Joanne Limburg, Nick Walker, Katherine May, Melanie Yergeau, Selima Hill.
This page is specifically for people who wish to access Kate's 50% discounted bursary tickets for any of the weekly Exploring Neurodiversity: Creative Writing Workshops.
There are 4 bursary spaces on each session. These are intended for those who genuinely need financial support and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
All writing abilities welcome.
Join for one-off sessions or come regularly.
Come as you are, and participate in whatever way feels best for you. You can have your camera on and join in by speaking, asking questions, or sharing your work, but there is no expectation to do so. You can also contribute by using the Chat function, which will be open throughout. If you prefer, you can keep your camera off for some or all of the session and take part in the writing exercises without sharing. However you choose to engage is completely valid, what matters if you feel comfortable and included.

Here's some of the feedback from previous course participants!
🌟 "The course is a practice in self-acceptance with a welcoming and knowledgeable host. You quickly get the sense of how much Kate is a walking library and feel encouraged by her. It was a privilege getting to witness each other, share our words, and connect in a world full of missed connections. A lifeline." — Salma, Course Participant
