Exploring Bargello
Fascinating Patterns
Bargello is one of the oldest styles of canvas work (needlepoint) dating back to at least the 16th century. The repetitive patterns are mesmerizing and once you learn the structure of a pattern use can use color to create dozens of variations.
We're going to skip some of the technicalities about stretching your canvas and other preparatory details and just focus on the patterns. Using plastic canvas as our base we will explore as many patterns as time allows. You'll have the opportunity to make a coaster or a bookmark out of one of the patterns we study. Maybe even both.
All materials are provided. Fee for the workshop is $35. Maximum of six participants.
