Exploring Archetypes: A SoulCollage® Experience

Find your people, Find your practice. We are a place where community and contemplation meet. No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region, and online through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. If you are opposed to sharing your lovely face, let us know and we'll do our best to avoid that. But, by using an event ticket you agree to let The Hive share your image in photo, audio, and video form. For Zoom classes we occassionally announce if we elecet to record- please let your host or faciliator know if you do not want to be recorded.)

<DIV>Join us for a soul experience with the creative process of SoulCollage®, a gentle way of exploring one’s life through imagery, and how it can be adapted to serve as a spiritual practice of self-reflection, wisdom searching and truth telling. You will learn how to use images intuitively to create collage cards that can be interpreted through creative imagination and be used as supporting tools in the practice of intentional living.</DIV>

<DIV>What are Archetypes?</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>In Jungian psychology, the archetypes represent universal patterns that are part of our collective unconscious which re-appear time and again across people and cultures. Being unconscious, the existence of archetypes can only be deduced indirectly by examining behavior, images, art, myths, religions, or dreams. Jung understood archetypes as universal patterns that are the psychic counterpart of instinct. They are inherited potentials which are actualized when they enter consciousness as images or manifest in behavior and interaction with the outside world, and are given particular expression by individuals and their cultures.</DIV>

<DIV>Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. He considered the process of individuation — the lifelong psychological process of differentiation of the self out of each individual's conscious and unconscious elements – to be the main task of human development. He created some of the best known psychological concepts, including synchronicity, archetypes, the collective unconscious, the psychological complex, and extraversion and introversion.</DIV>

<DIV>This class will combine the SoulCollage® creative process with Jungian psychology as we explore the concept of archetypal phenomena. We'll be looking deeper into the four basic archetypes present in every person – Persona, Shadow, Anima/Animus and Self – and much more.</DIV>
