The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a 1.5-mile hike through Hickory Bluff Preserve, our eighth and final preserve in this year's challenge. We'll discuss the 2024-2025 Explore Volusia Challenge, and you'll learn how to register and participate. Along the way, we'll learn about some of the native plants and animals that make Volusia County such an amazing place. Visit Explore Volusia to learn more about the Explore Volusia Challenge.

** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.

ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate 1.5-mile walk.

RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.

TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.

AGES: Ages eight and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors

WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen, and a smart phone (not required to participate on the hike)

FACILITIES: There is a port-a-let but no running water on site.
