About this event
The EXPLORE: Songwriting Workshop is a 4-week course hosted by Dear Soul Music Co sponsored by ASC Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County. In this free course, adults ages 18+ are invited to explore and deepen their songwriting skills with instruction by Charlotte recording artist, ARSENA and singer-songwriter, Nathan Storey. This course encourages collaboration & provides instrumental backing and exercises for combating writer’s block. The course overview is as follows:
Wednesday: Nov 30 | Week 1: Intro To Songwriting: History + Importance
TASK: Select your song's backing track or accompaniment
Wednesday: Dec 7 | Week 2: Song Structure and Arrangement
TASK: Writing A Great Chorus
Wednesday: Dec 14 | Week 3: Protecting Your Work
TASK: Copywriting Your Songs + Split Sheets
Wednesday: Dec 21 | Week 4: Song Performance & Delivery How To's
(optional TASK): Audition to present your work for the EXPLORE: Concert Series Showcase on December 30, 2022.
