EXPLORE: Community Concert Series at Arbor Glenn!

Dear Soul Music Co Presents the EXPLORE: Community Concert Series (formerly known as the Unplugged+Live Concert Series)! Sponsored by the ASC Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County. This touring concert series features live performances featuring local and touring talent and music artist community meet & greets in a listening-room environment.

Our June 29th performer is ARSENA:

Arsena is an alternative R&B, acoustic, and jazz influenced recording artist and singer-songwriter. Born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Charlotte, NC, she’s known for her star-quality and heart felt tunes—-think India Arie meets Norah Jones with introspective lyrics infusing her multi-instrumentalist capabilities.

Over the years she’s released a number of records and accomplished much as an independent talent. This list includes touring nationally and internationally, an endorsement with Breedlove Guitars, & winning over hearts with a standing ovation from Michael Jordan at what’s now known as the Spectrum Arena. Today, Arsena is a Berklee College of Music - (BerkleeOnline) Graduate Student pursuing her M.A. in Interdisciplinary Music Studies (concentrating in music business, music production, & songwriting) while still regularly performing, recording, and advocating for independent music artists.

In 2017, she founded Dear Soul Music Co, an award-winning arts and entertainment company that provides community programming and resources for independent artists. Since its start, Arsena has serviced countless music artists in songwriting, branding, music production, youth recording arts camps, mentorship, and beginner guitar workshops for adults. Her 3rd full-length album called Metamorphosis: The Evolution of Arsenaproduced by the Stellar-award winning, Curt Keyz, released in May 2023 followed by the single, "Santa Can You" from the Holiday Harmonies EP featured on the WCCB TV - The Charlotte's CW in December of 2023.

A little bit about the series:

Founded in 2013 by singer-songwriter ARSENA, The Unplugged+Live Series is a touring concert series in support of independent singer-songwriters. The series was initially a house concert with the idea of a listening-room experience in mind. In 2015, Unplugged+Live received grant funding from the NC Arts and Science Council. Since then the series has drawn local, regional, and national acts expanding from private living rooms into local public venues across the region. Each show features hand-selected acts for an intimate show allowing listeners to engage with their original work. To date, over 150 regional acts have featured in this series now expanding to Atlanta, GA and Austin, TX. We believe independent artists gain loyal fans through these experiences so we create them!
