Exploration in Drawing

Exploration in Drawing

Overview

In this workshop, Join local artist Emily Taylor for a 5-day exploration into the world of drawing.

This is a 5-day workshop, it will take place on July 20 through 24 from 6pm to 9pm at the LMU Center for the Arts in Cumberland Gap, TN. All supplies and needed materials are provided.

In this workshop, Join local artist Emily Taylor for a 5-day exploration into the world of drawing. Drawing is a basic human activity, drawing from observation is a learned skill, and humans have been drawing throughout time. Children’s drawings, master drawings, abstract and contemporary drawings - the field is vast. Participants will have fun exploring separately and then combining various elements of drawing such as line, shape, and value, as well as principles of composition such as balance, variety, unity, space, and movement. Because the field of drawing encompasses so much, the workshop will explore different topics, approaches and media, and play drawing games and fun experiments. Participants will look at drawings produced in class as well as examples of drawings over time. Participants will be equipped to find further information and practice exercises after the workshop, on topics of particular interest to them.

This workshop will take place July 20th through 24th from 6pm to 9pm each day.

This workshop is for those ages 18 and up.

Scholarships are available. If you have any questions about this event or scholarships, contact Grace Mahieu at grace.mahieu@LMUnet.edu or 423-869-7423.
