Discover how to address the turnover turmoil and age-out woes in the railroad industry! Learn about the innovative Expertise Management (EM) approach for capturing and transferring railroad expertise in a free-of-charge workshop sponsored by the FRA Office of Research, Development & Technology.

What’s on the Agenda?

• 1-hour exploration into the nature of expertise in the railroad industry, including both technical and non-technical expertise, and the potential cost of lost expertise.
• Introduction to the EM Framework: methods, tools, and training products.
• Hands-on demonstrations of the EM products through real railroad scenarios.
• 1-hour expert panel session about the role of emotional intelligence in safety leadership.

Who Should Attend?

Whether you’re a Chief Safety Officer, a Senior Safety Leader, or a dedicated safety trainer, this workshop is for you! Attendees may participate in all sessions or just attend the ones that fit your schedule. Senior Safety Leaders will especially want to attend the 1-hour exploration into the nature of expertise at 9:00 am and the concluding panel session at 3:30 pm. This workshop will be recorded for future reference.
