Join our 4-week expert-led certificate online program to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire filmmaking process. The course explores key topics in scriptwriting, producing, directing, editing, marketing, and distribution. Throughout the four weeks, engage in hands-on exercises and creative discussions, with a specific focus on writing and producing a narrative short film.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop and pitch a compelling short film concept, including a 3-page script. The short can serve as a proof of concept for a larger project.
- Plan and execute the production process, including script breakdown, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Gain post-production skills, including film editing, sound design, and color correction.
- Create a film marketing plan and a press kit for effective distribution.
- Showcase acquired skills through the creation and presentation of your project.
Participate in hands-on exercises, gain valuable insights through real-world case studies, engage in a Q&A session to address specific questions, receive constructive feedback on your project, and access a curated list of recommended resources to continue your learning journey.

An accomplished expert in the industry, Al Hallak brings a wealth of experience to his diverse roles. With expertise as a producer, director, and educator at the New York Film Academy, The New School, and New York University Professional Studies, he has spent over a decade collaborating with producers and film companies in Los Angeles and New York City, contributing to the creation of numerous successful film projects.
