About this event

  • Event lasts 7 days 3 hours

This two-session class will help you dive deep into the endless possibilities of color monotype printmaking! Working with pieces of plexiglass, you will learn how to create painterly images, bold abstract compositions, and densely layered prints. You will also learn how to use the printing press and deepen your understanding of color theory. This class is perfect for printmakers who are looking to expand their practice and beginners who are eager to learn what monotype is all about.

This is a two-session class. We will meet on Sunday, 7/21 and Sunday, 7/28 from 2-5:30pm.

This class is taught by Alchemy artist-in-resdience Maren Lamb. Maren is a mixed media printmaker from Philadelphia. Our class offerings taught by artists-in-residence are developed by the visiting artists and are informed by their artistic practice. This is the only time this class will be offered at Alchemy!

This class is held in the print studio in the main art building on the AAC campus. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.

Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.

A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are experimenting with offering sliding scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes. Accessibility tickets are priced below what it costs for us to run a class. If the cost of a full price ticket is a hardship, we encourage you to purchase a sliding scale ticket. If you can pay the full price or sustaining price, please choose that option so we can keep providing arts programming to the community.

Tuition Assistance: Tuition assistance is available for Alchemy classes and workshops if finances are a barrier. Apply for tuition assistance here.
