Join Love Texas Art Residency Artist Kyle Hanson for an afternoon of hands-on instruction creating experimental monotypes.

Join Love Texas Art Residency Artist Kyle Hanson for an afternoon of hands-on instruction creating experimental monotypes. This is the first workshop in the new Love Texas Art Studio Space!Monotype is a fast-paced and intuitive form of printmaking that allows for exciting and experimental art making. The best part is that there is no wrong way to make a monotype so participants are encouraged to let loose and get weird!Participants will learn the three methods of the monotype process (additive, reductive, and trace) in making a multilayered work of art that they will take home and proudly show their friends.The workshop fee is $40 per person and includes all materials to create your monotype and includes one beverage per person (must be 21 and up for beer or wine). You must have a ticket to participate.

About Kyle HansonKyle Hanson (b. Arlington, TX, 1995) attended the University of North Texas, receiving a Bachelor’s in Painting and Drawing in 2020. Hanson’s practice is interested in what is revealed about our identities within our lived environment as well as what might be buried beneath the patina of our own immediate conscience. Hanson’s paintings, colorful and hyper-rendered, tend to pose as a flirtatious display, prancing around the concealed and weighty topics of the human condition such as loneliness, self-denial, and ephemerality.Follow Kyle in instagram @koolaidkyle
