Experiencing the Redwoods Through All 5 Senses
Join us as we kick of State Parks week with a sensory hike through Samuel P Taylor State Park!
Samuel P Taylor is host to majestic redwood groves that have cohabitated with humanity over the course of thousands of years. This hike offers us the opportunity to experience this vital forest ecosystem through the lens of our bodies’ core sensory functions and explore new ways to appreciate aspects of the areas that we live in.
This is a moderate hike spanning ~2 miles of somewhat hilly terrain. We recommend that participants pack water, a snack, wear sturdy shoes and protective clothing when joining the hike.
The hike will commence from the Redwood Grove Parking Area. From the entrance kiosk, after parking in the day use lot to your left, follow the road on foot straight back across the bridge and turn left at the dead end. Look for state park staff by the gate at the end of the pavement.
