About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Join JBN's Jeni Clancy and Rabbi George Altshuler from Congregation Sherith Israel for Expecting Jewishly. This in-person program offers expecting parents Jewish community and opportunities to reflect and schmooze. Gather in the park to nosh, get to know one another and to do some laid-back Jewish learning and reflection around the wonderful and at times overwhelming transition to parenthood. It’s powerful to go through the journey to parenthood (or a second or third child!) with a group of folks experiencing something similar.

This kick-off event will be followed by the opportunity to join a Sherith Israel Expecting Jewishly cohort facilitated by Rabbi George. The goal is to create a supportive group of soon-to-be parents that will meet monthly and go through the journey to parenthood together. This will be the third cohort of Expecting Jewishly.

The suggested donation for this event is $18 to help cover costs. No one is turned away, so please give what you can.

Registration is appreciated but not required. Registration helps us plan and be in touch in case anything changes. You do not need to be a member of any organization to attend this event.

Our programs are designed for families with children aged 0-36 months, but bring the whole family! Grandparents and extended family welcome too. We always have great snacks, fun art supplies, and play spaces for older siblings too. We welcome everyone, including unaffiliated, single and multi-parent, multi-faith, multi-ethnic, multi-abled, and LGBTQ+ families.

Jewish Baby Network is creating a pluralistic community in the SF Bay Area where families of all kinds learn, share, and celebrate together. We bring together families with children aged 0 – 36 months (big siblings always welcome!) to connect with each other and the larger Jewish community.

We're proud to be a program of JFCS' Center for Children and Youth, which offers comprehensive parenting support from birth through young adulthood, guided by our Jewish values.

Jewish Baby Network welcomes everyone, including unaffiliated, single and multi-parent, multi-faith, multi-ethnic, multi-abled, and LGBTQ+ families. Visit jewishbabynetwork.org to learn more!
