Skills to be taught:
Knots, Hitches, & Bends:
Learn to construct and analyze the purpose & application of each knot in various scenarios.
Etrier/ladder, Bowline with Yosemite finish, Stone knot, EDK.
Marginal & Retrievable Anchors:
Learn to construct & analyze marginal and retrievable anchors. Learn how to evaluate the strength & effectiveness of constructed anchors. Demonstrate proper rappelling techniques, explain the importance of sequencing.
Marginal Anchors:
Knot anchor, Rock Chock.
Retrievable anchors:
Sand Trap, Toggle Device, Wanchor, CEM, and or Macrame.
Pothole Escapes Techniques:
Learn various pothole techniques: Pot Shots throws,Pot Shot Carins, hooks, Pack Carins, Partner Assists
Rescue Technique: Convert to Lower:
Toss n’ Go, Carabiner Block, and Toggle Devices.
Recue Technique: Pick Off
Learn how to perform a Pick-Off technique from the top and Perform the Pick-Off technique from the bottom
Emergency Response Protocol :
Learn how to analyze & utilize rescue emergency protocol for canyoning incidents.
Construct Haul System:
Construct, demonstrate and explain application of haul systems for emergency hauling subject back to the top of the rappel.
Mechanical Advantage Systems:
Learn to construct and explain the concept of mechanical advantage systems & its impact on anchor forces. Know and calculate mechanical advantage ratios for various rigging configurations.

Canyon Leadership:
Safety briefing, Safety gates & zones, group management, move team expeditiously, rappelling 101, coaching and teaching.

For in-person training and in-person clinics, we offer a refund up to 14 days before the training event. To initiate a return, go to your order in Eventbrite and request a refund.
