Join us for a free, bird-focused morning! This event is planned in partnership with the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve, Duluth Parks & Recreation, Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, Wisconsin Sea Grant, Embark Supported Employment, Minnesota Land Trust, and the Lake Superior Reserve.

All activities are designed with access in mind, but if you would like to request additional accommodations, please email Luciana.Ranelli@Wisc.Edu or call Luciana at 715-399-4085 at least 10 days before the event. Free transportation is provided from the Superior Public Library and Menards in West Duluth to Chambers Grove.

We have 15 pairs of binoculars for people to use, a spotting scope, a wheelchair mount for binoculars, and portable seating. Also available for use, courtesy of Duluth Parks & Recreation, is a track chair - an all-terrain, electric powered chair that can be used on hiking trails! Light refreshments will be provided. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are also available. On bright sunny days there is limited shade, so please bring sun protection.

Organized by

The Friends of the Reserve supports Lake Superior Reserve programs, operations, and facilities by building our membership, advocating for the Reserve, fundraising, organizing volunteer efforts. We also produce events to help the community enjoy the estuary and the area around it. Our members enable us to be a reliable partner to the Reserve and an advocate for stewardship and protection of the St. Louis River Estuary, and Lake Superior’s coasts and estuaries.
