Driven by the desire to further involve citizens in discussing Europe ahead of the important 2024 elections, the Renew Europe Group at the European Parliament is launching a new series of events called “Renew Europe On The Ground”, with the first session taking place on 18th September 2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The event in Sofia, titled "Ever closer Union" – the Bulgarian contribution to full European integration" will offer an open discussion with citizens in Bulgaria with the participation of Members from the Renew Group, each looking at a different angle of advancing European integration.
The event aims at diving into the Treaty objective for ‘Ever closer Union among the peoples of Europe’ and the approximation of the Union policies, tools and opportunities for a sustainable future, while allowing for an open and interactive discussion between Bulgarian citizens and MEPs from Renew Europe. In doing so we aim to facilitate a close exchange that embraces challenges in an informal way, reducing the distance between citizens and the European institutions.
