About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

21+ Bar opens one hour before showtime. AC Myles plays at 7 pm. Evan Thomas Band plays at 8 pm. Both bands play together at 9 pm.

Two amazing blues and roots rock musicians, one night! This double-headliner billing returns after their sold-out show in January. Livermore favorites The Evan Thomas Band captures the down-home essence, foot stompin’, head noddin’ style of old Mississippi Delta and Chicago Blues, featuring Evan Thomas on guitar, Wally Schnalle on drums, George Franklin on bass and Noel Catura on sax. They have opened for great acts such as Tommy Castro, Albert Cummings, and Ana Popovic. Joining them is AC Myles, a guitarist who stylistically recalls Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop and Rory Gallagher. With high praise from Blues Revue Magazine and Bruce Iglauer (Alligator Records), you won’t want to miss his potent vocals and staggering, unyielding guitar work. He has appeared with Gov’t Mule, Zac Brown Band, Buddy Guy, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more.

See them live at Almost Famous Wine Lounge, an award-winning, new tasting room and venue located on Vasco Road in the heart of Livermore's wine, spirits and brewery district. Almost Famous Wine makes fifteen wines in diverse styles, and earned over 50 top industry awards since our debut in 2021.

ABOUT EVAN THOMAS

Evan Thomas has that thang. It’s in his inner soul, and that feeling which captures a down home essence, the foot stompin’ and head nodding style of the old Mississippi Delta and Chicago Blues.

It’s the grit in his soulful voice and his cryin’ guitar which sets him apart. Evan Thomas’s classic, electric blues guitar style is influenced by some of the great guitar players of our time: Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Freddy King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix. The Evan Thomas Blues Band also features Wally Schnalle on drums, George Franklin on bass and Noel Catura on sax.

The band is experienced and packs a potent performance, full of style and tone. Something fans of the blues will not soon forget. This energetic funky soulful blues band has opened for great acts such as Curtis Salgado, Tommy Castro, Tia Carroll, Selwyn Birchwood, Albert Cummings, Mike Zito, Albert Castiglia, and Ana Popovic in the past year.

They have performed at venues and festivals such as San Jose Jazz Fest, Martinez Blues Festival, Gilroy Garlic Festival, Hanford Blues and Roots Festival, Blues and Bones Festival, Folsom Chicken Festival , Poor House Bistro, The Powerhouse Pub, The Phoenix, The Torch Club, Bankhead Theater, Almost Famous Wine Co, Impulse Room, Little Lou's BBQ, and Roxx on Main, just to name a few.

If you are looking for a great show with some fine musicians, and want to be entertained with a high energy funky soulful blues show, then The Evan Thomas Band will not disappoint!

ABOUT AC MYLES

"Solid, confident performance with strong guitar and vocals and good attention to tone" - Bruce Iglauer - Alligator Records

AC Myles is stylistically along the lines of a modern-day Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop and Rory Gallagher. His albums 'Transitory' (2021), 'With These Blues' (2017), 'Rush to Red' (2015) & 'Reconsider Me' (2014) outline his musical development. Myles very confidently delivers with great vocal phrase and tone as well as staggering, unyielding guitar work. He is truly an artist that once you see onstage, you will never forget.

"...spotlights Myles's tough guitar playing and devastating singing. - Tom Hyslop - Blues Revue Magazine

The only son of production workers, Myles grew up in the migrant worker neighborhoods of Central California, spending his later teens and twenties touring with his own band. Finding his way to the San Francisco Bay Area & Los Angeles, he played sideman to an array of acts and begun touring nationally and internationally. Myles' song selections vary from originals and choice covers, ranging from traditional electric blues of the 60's and 70's into southern rock and soul. His live appearances showcase a healthy dose of humor, along with superb musicianship, leaving no doubt that he is the genuine article.

"Perhaps the only soulful thing to come out of Fresno, AC Myles can play the hell out of a guitar, and he's growing as a songwriter" - San Jose Metro Editor Steve Palopoli

"This album is a stunning piece of work and will put Mr Myles on your list to see live and to track down his previous releases." - Bob Bonsey - Blues Matters Magazine UK

"Blues-rocking guitarist AC Myles is an artist whose musical stock seems to be an arrow pointing straight up. The real deal folks! Dig it!" - Brent Black / www.criticaljazz.com

"The man has a very good voice and he's a great guitarist. There is much variety in his music." - Rootstime Belgium

He has appeared at numerous blues festivals and venues worldwide, and shared stages with Gov’t Mule, Zac Brown Band, Buddy Guy, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more.
