Welcome to the European Film Festival 2024!


Join us at the Barbados Museum & Historical Society for a cinematic journey through Europe, with a Caribbean spin.

Immerse yourself in a 2 captivating European films that will transport you to different cultures and perspectives right here in Barbados. At the same time, don't miss the unique opportunity to support aspiring Caribbean filmmakers from the University of West Indies that will be presenting 3 short films and join us to take your questions after the screenings.

‘Un Triomphe’

France | 2020 | Comedy | Rated R

Etienne, an often out of work but endearing actor, runs a theater workshop in a prison, where he brings together an unlikely troupe of prisoners to stage Samuel Beckett’s famous play Waiting for Godot. When he is allowed to take the colorful band of convicts on a tour outside of prison, Etienne finally has the chance to thrive. Each date is a new success and a unique relationship grows between this ad hoc group of actors and their director. But soon comes the final performance in Paris. Will their last night together be the biggest hit of them all?

Ramona has just moved to Madrid with her boyfriend Nico, and wants to start from scratch: she wants to be an actress, she wants to be a mother, she wants to live in Lavapiés. The day before her first audition she meets Bruno, with whom she has an instant and strong connection. Ramona runs off, scared of her own feelings but, as fate would have it, the next day she discovers that Bruno is the director she was supposed to meet!

This film explores a toxic relationship with recurrent breakdowns in communication between a romantic couple. Consistently failing to see each other at eye level forces a disconnect between two artists, who have completely different views of the world and approaches to art.
