Did you know that about 89% of all individuals with Parkinson’s, at some point, will experience issues with their communication and/or swallowing? Come to this informative education event where Cecelia Pizano, MS CCC-SLP will explain the physiology behind how Parkinson’s may affect one’s speech and swallowing, explore how this can impact one’s communication and daily activities, and most importantly, discuss the proactive steps you can take to address these issues, as well as the many roles a speech language pathologist can play in your care.

This in-person talk will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, at 3:30 p.m. at the Hilyard Community Center. The event will not be recorded.

Cecelia Pizano is a speech language pathologist and the owner of Amplify Speech Therapy. With over 20 years of experience and an LSVT LOUD clinician since 2010, she is well versed in making concepts in voice, cognition and swallowing simple to understand, easy to implement and practical to everyday life. She believes speech therapy can be more impactful by going the extra mile and including patient and family collaboration. Her mission is to empower people to reclaim their voice so they can get back to living.
