Etymology Nerd: The Algorithmic Gaze

Join us in Smith College's Sweeney Concert Hall (in Sage Hall) to learn about "the algorithmic gaze" from Adam Aleksic, aka Etymology Nerd. He will discuss topics like social media algorithms, LLMs, and algorithmic gender biases. Those interested in CS, linguistics, sociology, and gender studies are encouraged to attend! Q&As will be held in the last 10-15 minutes of the event. This event is free and in-person.
