About this event

  • 7 hours

Counselors may experience challenges in navigating interactions related to ethical considerations and the various intersections of clients’ identities, including those involving ethnicity, culture, sexual and gender identification, ability, and spirituality. This training is designed to provide counselors with diversity-inclusive strategies to elevate their cultural competence. Furthermore, the training endeavors to empower counselors by cultivating their own ethical awareness, enhancing communication skills, and deepening their ethical knowledge base. This approach extends to both the professional workplace and interactions with clients, fostering an ethically strengthened and culturally sensitive counseling environment.

Training Objectives:

  • Participants will learn strategies to mitigate cultural misunderstandings that may compromise the therapeutic relationship with clients, thereby fostering the establishment of a supportive environment.
  • Participants will discern and recognize the influence of their lived experiences on their professional interactions with both clients and colleagues.
  • Participants will enhance their ability to recognize and examine the ways in which their personal values shape their professional engagements with clients.
  • Participants will learn to navigate and address prevalent ethical challenges encountered when working with a diverse clientele, enhancing ethical integrity in their professional practices.
