Event description
Essential Maintenance Practices (EMP) Training - ONLINE

About this Event

This 2-3 hour online course will provide knowledge of Vermont’s Lead Law and the training necessary to perform EMPs (Essential Maintenance Practices). EMP activities include visual paint inspection, stabilization, maintenance, and specialized cleaning in rental housing and child care facilities that were built before 1978. Upon completing this course and passing a brief exam, trainees will receive an EMP certificate number. The certificate number of the person who performed the EMPs on pre-1978 rental housing and child care facilities is required on the yearly EMP compliance statement for these properties.

Training materials will be emailed to you approximately one week before the training. You can also find links to these materials on the Eventbrite events page. You will need to study these materials before the class. Please set aside 1-2 hours to review these materials. There will be a quiz before the class and a test once the class has concluded. Both of these will be emailed to you using the online survey tool, Alchemer.

An EMP certificate will be sent to registered participants who pay the $10 fee, participate in the class, and pass the exam with a score of 80 % or higher.
