Escape Studios is Europe’s leading VFX academy, part of Pearson College London since 2013, the Studio has over 14 years’ experience in creating world-class, studio-ready talent. <H2 CLASS="MsoNormal">Escape Studios is calling out to budding Game Designers for this year’s Game Jam in partnership with Playhubs</H2>
Join your peers and gain insight from industry leaders by taking part Escape Studios’ Game Jam, in partnership with Playhubs, from 17th- 19th June.
Escape Studios’ Game Jam 2016 is the inaugural game design competition hosted by Escape Studios offering up and coming talent the opportunity to hone their skills. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates to put their skills to the test against the clock to create the best game to fit the brief, as a way to build experience. Running from Friday to Sunday each team will have to create and present their game to a panel of judges in order to win an exclusive prize package by the end of the weekend.
Creativity, endurance and a desire to work with and learn from you peers are all that is required, as Escape Studios aims for attendees to think outside of the box in this their first Game Jam.
The Teams
Each team will consist of 4 people and members will be selected by event organisers to ensure an even skill set for each team (participants must be 18years +). Escape Studios Game Jam 2016 will be made up of a maximum of 6 teams, so get in early to ensure your spot!
The Theme
 The theme of the Game Jam will be provided on the day and teams must make all components of their game over the weekend. The games will be presented and judged at the end of the Jam on various criteria such as game concept, design, art, relevance to the brief and overall delivery.
Sponsors and Judges
We have teamed up with up with Samsung and 3D Artist to bring you top industry professionals and equipment to help build your ideas. Samsung Gear VR headsets will also be available to test over the weekend during breaks. Representatives from all three organisations will also be part of the final judging panel.
Additional judges also include Escape Studio’s Head of Gaming, Simon Fenton, who has over 20 years of experience in Game Art working for the likes of Sony. Simon will also be on hand to provide mentoring and guidance across the Jam  hours.
Prize
In addition to your final developed game, the winning team will also receive a prize package of amazing hardware, as well as access to one of Escape’s courses in gaming art. The winning team will also be featured in an interview with our media partner 3D Artist talking about their game, which will be distributed across the gaming and visual effects industry!
The Venue
Escape Studios Game Jam 2016 will be held courtesy of Playhubs at Somerset House, New Wing, Lancaster Place, London, WC2R 1LA.
All participants must bring their own laptop, power cables, converters and any other equipment you may need. We will be providing power supply and wifi connectivity as well as food and drink to get you going and everything you need to plan and brainstorm your ideas. There will be areas to rest and you will have 24 hours access to the venue across the weekend.

Who owns the IP?
Intellectual Property for the games remains 100% with you - the creators. However source code must be uploaded to the Escape Studios Game Jam website at the end of the jam.
