Equitable Development mini-conference

OPCDsupports thriving communities through an integrated and equitable approach to planning and community investment. OPCD works across City departments to assess community needs, prioritize resources, and develop a vision for how Seattle grows to ensure that we are coordinating and implementing our plans with a cohesive vision.

The Equitable Development mini-conference will be a shared learning opportunity for diverse community members to learn about Seattle’s Equitable Development Initiative, which envisions that the benefits and burdens of growth are shared equitably for all of our communities, particularly so that those who have historically been most harmed by growth are able to thrive in place.
Our workshop will identify ways to strengthen trust between community organizations City government and advance racial equity. We will explore what equitable development means and how building trust can help hold elected officials and government agencies accountable to how Seattle grows in ways that advance racial equity.
Please come with your ideas and be ready to share information about successful equitable development projects in your neighborhood or in other cities that you'd like to see here in Seattle!
