Equine Behavior Lecture Part II

Fundamentals of Equine Behavior

Equine training can be broken down into two basic types of learning: associative and non-associative learning. Although this is a different way to talk about how to train, many traditional horse training methods actually utilize these principles, so many experienced riders will understand some parts of learning theory instinctively!

In part two of our four-part series on equine behavior, we will talk about the drivers and origins of horse behavior and the 7 key ways that behaviors change, and how to harness them in your every day care. Take the opportunity to make the science work for you and your horse!

About the speaker:

Anna Boger DVM is the head trainer and equine veterinarian at Misty Step Stables. In her practice, she combines an expertise in equine learning theory, veterinary behavior, and lameness/sports medicine .

NOT ANYMORE! Thanks to our amazing farm sign designer, Grey Pony Designs, we have a fabulous white and blue barn sign at the top of the driveway easily visible from Beallsville Rd.

You are welcome to bring a chair! We also have a good number of chairs available for participant seating.

Should I bring water or snacks?
