About this event

  • 5 hours 30 minutes

Welcome to the Smithtown Hunt Equestrian Games & Pony Festival at Pindar Vineyard! Join us for a fun-day filled for families and friends of all ages! We are lucky to be welcomed back to Pindar Vineyards on Long Island's North Fork wine trail. Riders will enjoy the 300+ acres of vines while competing in a unique scavenger hunt. Pony Festival attendees will enjoy the bucolic scene as riders take the vines, while enjoying a glass of wine and lunch in the Pindar Pavilion. Laugh along with your littles as they make their very own hobby horse and play along in our 'faux-show' (where there will be an Olympic medal for each!), and enjoy the thrill of a pony ride by the vines. Bring friends and family to this unique event for all ages ... as we raise a glass to toast the future 2024 Olympics and support our cause: all proceeds from the event go towards the support of the Smithtown Hunt, whose mission is Conservation, Education, & Preservation. The Smithtown Hunt is a 501c3 organization www.smithtownhunt.com.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 'faux-show'?

A fake horse show! No horses... and no real competition. Imagine 'simon says' but with a hobby horse between your legs! To prepare for the delight of watching the equestrian games in the 2024 Olympics, we'll have 3 class options - Littles (under 12yo), Juniors (12+), and Adults (18+).

What is a Hobby Horse ?

A toy consisting of a stick with a model horse head – DIY hobby horses come in all shapes, sizes and colors... kids can bring their own from home or enjoy our crafts table where helpers will use glue / tape / bags / socks and other materials to make their own equestrian work of art.

Do I need to have my own horse?

No. There are a VERY limited horses available for lease for the day reserved for the most experienced riders only (experience at the walk, trot, canter a horse they have never ridden before in a field in an English or western saddle). Text Kerry Ruggi 914-262-8323 for information.
