About this event

  • 4 hours

You're invited to join us for our annual Epiphany Summer Fete, celebrating our wonderful community of creatives. Epiphany Magazine is a semiannual print and online literary journal and an independent nonprofit that supports practicing writers at every stage of their careers.

This year's Fete will be a dreamy June night, filled with: mingling over cocktails and delicious nibbles; inspiring words from our brilliant featured speaker, award-winning novelist Anne Landsman; music from the mesmerizing Miwa Gemini; and tantalizing auction prizes. All to be held at The Urbane Arts Club, a sprawling Victorian mansion and former speakeasy in Ditmas Park. Enjoy exploring the lovely porch, parlor rooms, ballroom (strewn with fairy lights!), and courtyard, where you're sure to find both old friends and new. We can't wait to share the evening with you!

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE

It’s hard to describe the music of Miwa Gemini. Much like the name suggests their sound is mercurial, drawing influences that range from Erik Satie to Beyoncé. Their songs were soaked in a whiskey barrel, dried off a balcony in Paris in the 1920's, and finally polished by the hustle and bustle of NYC. Their unique blend of watertight harmony is accompanied by a simple yet intricate instrumentation, and their infectious melodies will have you smiling in no time.

VENUE

The Urbane Arts Club is a 1920s speakeasy turned events venue and arts community, where century-old elegance meets today's creative vibrancy in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.

SPONSORS

  • Fort Hamilton Distillery: On a mission to recapture America’s finest spirits, we celebrate America’s original whiskey style, New York Rye. This style was the most popular libation in America pre-prohibition and serves as the base for the most discerning classic American cocktails. We honor the authentic tradition of New York Rye by using zero corn in our mash bills and by avoiding colorings, flavorings, or adulterating our whiskeys in any way.
  • The New York Distilling Company builds on the dream of an urban distillery by establishing one of the nation’s premier craft distilleries in the borough of Brooklyn. The distillery's aim is to create products and brands of exceeding quality and originality while building on an American cocktail heritage set in its second Golden Age.
  • The Red Hook Winery: Founded in 2008 by Mark Snyder, The Red Hook Winery aims to uncover and highlight the best vineyard sites in New York state. All Red Hook Wine is produced from grape to bottle at our winery on Pier 41.
