Ready to kickstart your journey as a practitioner? This online training is perfect for those looking to get started in PBS who are not yet suitable.

Scope of content:

The content covers basic information relating to the knowledge requirements for an entry-level practitioner to begin meeting core practitioner requirements. This is guided by each aspect of the Capability Framework at the Core Level and should be a good basis for those who have not worked in the PBS space before. It may overlap with your existing knowledge of PBS, though.

By the end of the session, practitioners should have a basic understanding of the following topics:

  • The scope, ethics, risk factors, and purpose of interim interventions
  • Understanding the values underlying functional assessment, and develop basic understanding of Functional Analysis
  • Planning a comprehensive BSP based on information from the FBA
  • The role of stakeholders and the person’s life-stage in BSP implementation
  • Know it works: Gathering and interpreting data; understanding the quality indicators of a BSP
  • Restrictive Practice Legislation
  • Professional development and capability framework pathways

Note: This course will run in 2x 3 hour sessions on the 28th and 29th of May
