About this event

Climb up the ladder and come on in. David J, co-founder of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets, is ready to welcome us up into the attic. For years, this is where three old shoeboxes containing a veritable treasure trove of lost songs laid amongst the dust and cobwebs, awaiting rediscovery.

Recorded by David J between 1984 and 2004 (with often just a guitar, tape recorder, lit candles and the blessing of his muse), these hidden gems have emerged from the shadows into the light, to be gathered in a stunning new compilation from Independent Project Records. Tracks From the Attic surveys decades of exquisite songcraft, exposing fascinating new aspects of David J’s artistry.

The N M BODECKER CREATIVE FOUNDATION (“Bodecker Foundation”) was established in 2017 by Sandy Bodecker, Nike’s legendary VP of Special Projects, and by Tanya Cerda as a tribute to Sandy’s father, the award-winning author and illustrator N.M. Bodecker. He instilled a love and appreciation of the arts in Sandy and his brothers. Sandy’s chosen career path and significant professional accomplishments were directly impacted by his father’s support, encouragement, and artistic influence. Inspired by this profound legacy, the Foundation’s workshop, mentoring, and scholarship programs spark young people to realize their creative power through immersive learning experiences.
