A Musical Journey  Beginning with the 18th Century to the Present by the von Paradis Ensemble

The Bernie Wohl Center at Goddard Riverside

This musical journey includes Songs of Faure, Strauss, and the Count's Aria from the "Marriage of Figaro," a solo cello composition of Bach, "Sisciliane" by von Paradis for cello and piano, and a world premiere, "JOB Fragments," libretto by Victoria Sirota and music by Robert Sirota.Thomas Pellaton, baritoneJames McCrory, pianistCarol Buck, cellistUncovering the talent of Maria Theresia von Paradis (1759-1824)The Ensemble, founded in 2017, was named in the honor of von Paradis, a blind Austrian composer, pianist and singer who was a student of both Salieri and Mozart. She wrote operas, piano and chamber music and much religious music as well.
