Honestly knowing ourselves and others is the first step in living out the Great Commandment to love self and others well. The Enneagram is a personality tool used for self-revelation and spiritual work. In learning the Enneagram, we discover characteristics and motivations of our personality – one of nine types. Further, understanding the Enneagram will increase our skill and compassion in relating to others, especially those whose motivations and ways of approaching the world are different from ours. While the Enneagram has ancient roots, its rediscovery in the modern era has ushered in new avenues of spiritual formation. This class will provide an introduction and overview of the Enneagram with emphasis on how it can benefit our relationships with parishioners, colleagues, and loved ones.
