The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Senior Whole Health by Molina Healthcare, is hosting a virtual panel examining how the Place-Based Supports (PBS) approach improves health outcomes for seniors. The live, virtual event titled “Enhancing Senior Care and Wellness Through Place-Based Supports” will feature a moderated discussion and Q&A session and will be held on Wednesday, June 26 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET.
Nearly 50 % of older adults living alone lack the financial resources required to pay for basic needs including food, medicine, clothing, and hygiene products. To meet the unique needs of seniors, MassHealth has introduced the PBS Initiative – an approach to care integrating community health and well-being strategies into Senior Affordable Housing Sites. Panelists will address the importance of food security, crisis intervention, behavioral health, the integration of resident and service providers into specialty housing, and more through the lens of the PBS model.
Participants include:
Host: William Graham, plan president, Senior Whole Health by Molina Healthcare
Keynote: Emily Cooper, Chief Housing Officer at the Executive Office of Elder Affairs
Panelists:
- Steve Beauregard, executive director, New Bedford Housing Authority
- Pam Bolarinho, vice president of acute care services, Child and Family Services
