The National Society of Black Engineers - Chicago Professionals was founded in 1989 to fulfill the NSBE mission "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community" in the Greater Chicago area.

We have graduated and work in the technical professional industry.

We endeavor to spark and sustain children's and young adult interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and transform the NSBE Professionals into the premier technical professional organization of choice.

This year we are focused on
  • Exposing K-12 students to STEM-related activities and fields
  • Assisting our collegiate members with career readiness
  • Building partnerships with local colleges and universities to mentor college students thru graduation
  • Increasing the professional skill set of our members
  • Graduating 500 students/year in engineering consistently by 2025
