We invite you to join us for the third installment of the Engage Alamance series on August 15th @ 8:30am at the Haw River Ballroom. This will be our final event for the year and a big part of setting our course for the next 12 months, we invite you to show up and be part of the direction.
 
In the first two events, we discussed the “why” and the “how” of creating an engaged, action-oriented community. Recap the <A HREF="http://thecooperative.co/engage-alamance" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">first</A> and <A HREF="http://thecooperative.co/engage-alamance-ii" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">second</A> installments on our blog. 
 
For the third installment, we have some exciting news to share as we begin discussion on the "what." What we are currently doing, what we want to see as outcomes for our community, and the starting steps to get us there. 
 
We've also retired the tag line Participation > Observation and moved on to Action > Conversation. (See more on that <A HREF="http://thecooperative.co/actionoverconversation" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</A>).
 
This is reflected in a change to the format for the Engage Alamance too. As part of the third event, we're putting the community in the driver's seat to talk about what action looks like. 
 
We will have moderated round tables for everyone to participate in one of several key themes related to how we move Alamance County forward -- in terms of community development and arts, entrepreneurship and innovation, and impact investment. 
 
To be clear, these round tables aren't to debate what's wrong, who is responsible, or what's fair. That's backwards looking and we aren't using rear view mirrors here. It's to identify, from our own community, the resources we have, what's missing, and how to go get what we need in order to turn ideas into action. 
 
Best of all, the results that come from each of these groups will be developed into actual action plans, eligible for funding to test or implement the ideas. In effect, we're telling the community to give us what YOU want to see so we have some marching orders. And if you show up you'll see we're ready to put money to work to do so.
