Classic Seventies Pop

Mostly songs from the seventies, heard on the radio (or the Walkman, TV and the movies). The spotlight is on classic pop from James Taylor, Kenny Rankin, Janis Ian, Carly Simon, Billy Joel and others. Hits and deep cuts from the same albums.

Maud Hixson: Vocals
Mike Cramer: Guitar

Hailed as “gently virtuosic” (All About Jazz), Maud Hixson is a devoted exponent of great songs, ranging from the classic Great American Songbook to the often unsung or forgotten compositions awaiting rediscovery. Her newest recording is devoted to the music of her mentor, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, which earned a 2024 Bistro Award. Mike Cramer is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Whether playing bluegrass, jazz, blues, or swing, he brings an infectious energy to the stage. An award winning flatpicker, he won second place in the National Flatpicking Contest.

"A singular cabaret artist." --Chicago Tribune
