Encounter Group
A group for moment to moment experience in relation to others. Authentic human connection, inspired by C. Rogers. Observe, reflect, or share
This is a space designed for present-moment awareness and more authentic human interaction, inspired by Carl Rogers’ Encounter Groups.
The focus is on immediate feelings, reactions, and interpersonal experiences as they arise in the moment; offering a chance to explore how experiences emerge in relation with others.
The group is NOT a debate, brainstorming session, or advice forum.
Participation is entirely voluntary: there is no obligation to speak or contribute, and silence is always respected. Nothing is forced or imposed; the space is designed to allow each individual to be as they want to be, whether observing, reflecting internally, or sharing openly.
Participants are invited to:
- Take responsibility for their own emotions and reactions.
- Taking accountability for one’s own experiences without placing blame on others for what emerges within oneself
- Express themselves authentically if they choose, while maintaining respect and care for others.
- Honor the confidentiality of the group, creating a safe container where personal experiences are not shared outside the space.
Guidelines for a safe and constructive space:
- Judgment-free engagement—no shaming, criticism, or deliberate harm.
- Zero tolerance for discrimination or disrespectful behaviour.
- Shared responsibility for safety—participants may be asked to leave if attitude or behaviour conflicts with the purpose of the group.
Grounded in presence, authenticity, and self-awareness, this group offers an opportunity to explore personal experience, deepen understanding of self and others, and practice genuine relating.
